BLIND DATE (evolution of Living Theatre)

AN INTIMATE DANCE ACROSS TWO CONTINENTS. TRANSCONTINENTAL & INTERACTIVE PERFORMANCE

with ALISON CURRIE (UK) and KENDALL JONES (NZ)

Presented contemporaneously at The Museum of Futures (UK) and The Gus Fisher Gallery (NZ) as part of the Undisciplining Dance Symposium curated by Creative Arts & Industries, The University of Auckland (NZ).

Two cities in the world, London (UK) and Auckland (NZ). Between 11 and 13 hours of time difference and more than 11000 miles distance. Our intercontinental experiment aims to bring into live communication and interaction these two different locations. A distant proximity enabled through a third and fragmented body, both a carrier of data and a tangible organism, will give to the audience members in both continents the possibility to have a blind date with each other. A devised architecture of data transmission will aim to disconnect us from real distances in order to reconnect us through a dancing social network.
